GP3 Series 2016 - Round 04 - Hungaroring

Qualifying & Race 1. In a hot morning session, the 3 Jenzer Boys were heading to their qualifying. Arjun Maini topped the session at midway on his first set of tyres but his lap was cancelled due to track limits infringement, session was then interrupted by a red flag and all drivers were going back on track for the last 5 mins of qualifying. At the end of the session, Arjun qualified P9 while his team mates, Richard Gonda qualified P15 and Akash Nandy on P20. Race 1 was delayed due to weather conditions (heavy rain) during F1 qualifying and the drivers went on track for a 22 laps race at 18.00 instead of 17.20. Arjun start was ok and ended the first lap on P9, he overtook for P8 on lap 3 and kept the position up to the chequered flag - meaning he will start on Pole Position for Race 2. Richard Gonda made his way through the field from P15 to P13 and Akash Nandy made the show on TV overtaking some drivers to finish P17.

Race 2. An eventful sunday morning for the Jenzer Boys in Budapest. Arjun Maini was starting on pole and despite a good start, he got passed by Albon in Turn 1, he settled P2 and was keeping the pressure on the leader for the whole race, having to face as well the pressure from the Championship leader in his tail. Race was under safety car after the start as Akash Nandy was sent into a couple of flips by another driver - fortunately with no injuries, Akash could come out on his own from his damaged car. Hard race for Richard Gonda who had to fight a lot in the heart of the field to finish P15. Small rest now for the drivers for a couple of days before heading on wednesday to Hockenheim for the next round and hard work for the Jenzer mechanics to rebuild the car of Akash.
