ADAC F4 2016 - Round 04 - Oschersleben
Day 1 : 2 Free Practices and 1 Qualifying. Typical german summer in Oschersleben for Round 4 of ADAC F4 : a mix of cold, rain, sunny and cloudy day. First group of qualifying was starting on dry, but after 6 minutes it started raining, Fabio Scherer and Jan-Erik Meikup haven't scored a descent lap before the rain prevented for any more improvements : P11 of his group from Fabio and P12 of his group from Jan-Erik. Second group of qualifying was under wet conditions, with some heavy showers stopping the session with 2 red flags, out of these, Job Van Uitert was able to be P7 (only 1 tenth off P3). On day 2, FP3 and Race 1 are on the program...
Day 2 & 3 : Racing Days. After quite a weather changing and disappointing qualifying it was time to head for some racing.
In Race 1, Jenzer Boys were starting P14 for Job Van Uitert, P21 for Fabio Scherer and P23 for Jan-Erik Meikup; Job had a boring race stuck behind slower competitor but unable to pass them - finishing P13 while Jan-Erik made his way through the field moving up to P18, Fabio had a contact at the beginning of the race who made him go through the pits to change his nose and therefore was not able to fight for a good position and finally retired from the race.
Sunday Races were once again under dry conditions and Job was starting from P12, Fabio from P15 and Jan-Erik P20. For this race Jan-Erik was on fire and made a rocket start, being P16 at the end of the first lap and with the 8th fastest pace went up to P14, while Job scored a point finishing P10 and Scherer finished P16.
Final Race of the week end was at the end of the afternoon and it was another occasion for the Jenzer Boys to show their pace and collect some more points : Jan-Erik (definitively on fire today) made another rocket start from P18 up to P13 at the end of the first lap and made his way up to P7 after a eventfull race neutralised twice by safety car and once by a red flag - signing as well the 3rd fastest lap of the race. Job Van Uitert added 2 more points by finishing P9 (starting P13) and Fabio Scherer made an impressive race starting last (P33) and overtaking his competitors up to P14....
Good job once again from all the Jenzer Crew. Next stop for Germany will be on Red Bull Ring track at the end of July..
