F4 Italy 2016 - Round 01 - Misano

First race week-end of the season for the FIA Italian F4 who took place in Misano. Jenzer Motorsport Team was heading there with 7 cars in order to prepare as well the ADAC F4 Drivers. Great job done by all drivers.

Started from Qualifying where Marcos Siebert got the pole position of his group followed closely by Job Van Uitert - it could have been a Jenzer 1-2-3 in the group if Kevin Kratz didn't encountered a problem through mid session and had to be classified 10th of the group. In group A, the rookie Fabio Scherer showed some potential, qualifying P7, Diego Ciantini P10, Jan-Erik Meikup P15 and Giacomo Bianchi P19.

There were 3 Heat Races (2 for each drivers) to determine the Starting Grid of the Finale Race. And there was a festival of podiums and points for Jenzer Boys :

In Heat 1 Marcos scored a P5 while his team mates made a noticeable recovery through the field : Kevin going up to P10, Diego up to P11 (starting P28), Jan-Erik up to P16 and Giacomo up to P19.

In Heat 2, the sky decided to wash the race track with an heavy thunderstorm while the drivers were waiting in the pre-grid and in the wet conditions Job made a show : despite spinning in the first lap behind safety car he recovered from P13 to P2 with an awesome drive (with the fastest lap of the race) while once again Diego showed the pace going up through the field from P28 to P10, Fabio scoring a P13 and a P2 of the rookie championship.

In Heat 3, Marcos and Job made the show at the front battling for the podium places, finishing P2 and P3, Kevin was up to P9 up to the moment where he got hit from behind by another driver 2 laps before the end - not rewarding the nice battle he had so far.

At the end of these 3 Heats, ALL Jenzer drivers were qualified for the Final Race. Job and Marcos starting from the 2nd row. This time it was Marcos Show on track, making no mistakes and overtaking with class the other opponents to take the chequered flag on P1, Job battling with Schumacher for P5, Kevin battling in the middle of the pack to finish P17, Giacomo making his way from P34 to P24, Fabio finishing P26 - unfortunately DNF for Diego and Jan-Erik.

All in all it was a pretty good week-end for Jenzer Boys and this is a fantastic reward for the mechanics Marcos Rodriguez Casas, Francisco Hermoso Asenjo, Daniel Mespulet, Lasse Sigaard Weichert who have worked hard the last 3 months to deliver the best car possible to their drivers, so a big thank you to them for their dedicated work ! Now Marcos and Job are P3 & P4 in the Championship.... Next Step ADAC F4 Germany Round 1 in Oschersleben !
